Swiss and SBB expand air-rail route to Munich
SWISS International Airlines (Swiss) and SBB are set to expand their intermodal offer with the launch of the Zürich Airport - Munich Central Station Swiss Air Rail route from July 1. The combined rail-air route aims to offer a seamless connection between train and plane by offering a single ticket for both journeys.
“Together with SBB, we are taking an important step forward with complementary travel options in the interests of our guests,” says Mr Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Swiss CCO. The service to Munich is the first international route following connections to Basel, Lugano and Geneva, which were previously known as Flugzug.
On the route to and from Geneva, for example, boarding and alighting options will be introduced in Bern, Fribourg and Lausanne in combination with a Swiss flight ticket.
