Munich High-End 2022 was more fun than frantic
The largest and most professional-looking hi-fi show on the calendar, Munich High-End 2022, ends its four-day run later today — the first time since 2019. Helping press members like yours truly put show reports together this year were two trade days (instead of one).
Regular readers will know that I hadn’t planned to attend this year’s Munich event. Adversity being the mother of invention (and all that), I decided to attend only the two trade days but also not to cover High-End 2022 in the usual fashion.
Still to come are a few manufacturer-specific videos and a podcast show review that will aim to stitch a red thread through everything that I saw and heard across two days. Make no mistake: even though hi-fi shows like Munich (and Warsaw) suffer little of the model train enthusiast vibes of the hotel-based regional events taking place elsewhere in the world, they aren’t bringing as many new people to the hi-fi world as Instagram and YouTube coverage of the same.
