Bayern Munich eye summer deal for Everton forward Richarlison
Bayern Munich could make a move for key Everton forward Richarlison in the summer transfer window, according to reports by Sport1. The German giants are planning a move for the Brazil international should they fail to sign Sadio Mane from across Stanley Park at the end of the season. A departure from Anfield for the Senegalese forward is “unlikely” despite “concrete talks” set to take place between the player’s representatives and the Bundesliga outfit. As a result, the Bavarians could turn to the Toffees forward as a long-term replacement for Roberto Lewandowski who wants to leave after his eight-year spell at the club. Can Bayern Munich just steal one of Liverpool’s key players instead of the Blues’, please?
As hard as it is to admit, they could probably cope with losing Mane with their wealth of attackers but Everton certainly couldn’t. He has been the Toffees’ best, most consistent, player for a very long time now and they would really struggle without him. Who knows where Frank Lampard’s side would be without him – he has single handily dragged his team to the finish line of late with a series of match-winning displays at striker. The Brazilians’ 15 goals simply don’t do him any justice this season – not only should he have more but the role he plays in this team is crucial. His relentless pressing, tackling, encouragement to teammates and game-management – knowing when to waste a bit of time – have been so important to the team.
If the Blues go down, there is no doubt that he will leave in the summer and whilst that will be devastating for the fans given that he is one of their favourites – you can hardly blame him. The 25-year-old has way too much quality for the Championship but the impact he would have if he stayed would undoubtedly see them bounce straight back up. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that and the Toffees survive the fight which would see them get a much higher fee if Richarlison does decide to leave.
